**About the Role**

Route's software engineers are developing next-generation technologies that change how millions of users see, share, and discover the world's products. We are looking for versatile engineers that bring a background in distributed systems design and development, large-scale data storage and processing systems, and much more.

We are looking for a software engineering manager to join our eCommerce Platform team and provide leadership for one of the teams that designs, builds, and maintains our integrations to eCommerce platforms. These integrations support more than 7,000 merchants across eCommerce platforms. This team provides the crucial connection between Route's internal systems and our merchant's systems to enable Route's products across thousands of merchants. This leader would be responsible for guiding the design and implementation of the inbound and outbound communication interfaces between Route and our integrated platforms.

**Your participation**:

- Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and monitoring of critical integrations
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
- Reach out across the engineering organization to ensure cross team requirements are understood and met
- Encourage engineering best practices, design, and coding standards
- Embody a culture of innovation, transparency, and radical candor

**Requirements**:

- Fluent in English
- Work hours based on local time in Utah
- Contracted through third party agency

**Qualifications**:

- BS/BA degree in Computer Science
- Solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals
- 5+ years of relevant work experience
- 1+ years of leading a team
- Experience architecting and developing large scale systems
- Experience with one or more general-purpose languages, e.g. Javascript, PHP, Go, Java, C#
- Interest and ability to learn other languages as needed

**Preferred qualifications**:

- Experience with one or more of the following: AWS, SaaS software systems, microservices, REST API design
- Experience leading small engineering teams
- NodeJS and GoLang experience is a plus
- Experience designing and implementing systems with high security, reliability, and scalability requirements
- Experience working with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, etc is a plus
