The Amazon Finance Operations, Accounting & Analysis (FOAA) is a fast-paced, team-focused, dynamic environment. FOAA’s Project Management Organization (PMO) is seeking a Sr. Program Manager (PM) with experience in process improvement, Finance compliance and reporting, requirements gathering, transaction/systems mapping, cross-functional leadership and ability to work in high ambiguity environment.
FOAA’s Sr. PM is responsible for managing the lifecycle of a complex cross-functional program with considerable impact, and will partner with teams across Amazon business lines, Tech partners, Accounting, and Finance/Operations to deliver automation/simplification initiatives for the Amazon’s worldwide account reconciliations process. FOAA’s Sr PM may also be responsible for the delivery of large and complex projects that are not tied to any program.
Key job responsibilities
- Present and articulate complex concepts to cross-functional executive audiences
- Drive process improvements; enable streamlining to achieve operational efficiencies, benchmarking, and development of performance metrics
- Support processes to gather Accounting requirements, assess them for completeness, and translate them for technical teams, stakeholders, and sponsors who will address and implement such requirements
- Leverage technology and investigative skills to trace data through Amazon’s complex systems architecture
- Document end-to-end transaction and systems flows that explain the source of data, where it is stored, and how it gets into the hands of the end user
- Implement and document controls and processes to manage the transfer and sharing of data
- Identifying areas of risk to the project scope or timeline, and escalating to program leadership in a timely manner
- Dive deep where needed to resolve blocking issues during project planning, execution, testing, launch and cutover
About the team
FOAA Accounting owns preparation of +89% of total Amazon Account Reconciliations worldwide, this equals to +50K reconciliations monthly. FOAA’s PMO team focuses on leading programs or projects to achieve FOAA’s mission to get a touchless account reconciliation process; which will enable Operations teams to eliminate manual effort and focus on analysis, anomaly detection and controllership over the Balance Sheet reconciliation cycle.
