The Manager for Financial Planning and Analysis will be a key relationship manager and finance business partner for the senior leadership of 3-4 operating units within Moody’s Analytics, focusing on the P&L and EBITDA margin. This role will work alongside an array of internal stakeholders and international offices to co-ordinate and consolidate the operating unit’s financial story and prepare financial plans and strategic outlooks.

**Responsibilities**:

- Work with the FP&A expense support team to produce monthly reports and deliver results against KPIs, providing guidance to MA management on variances by providing insightful analysis and commentary.
- Facilitate meetings with MA management to discuss business drivers, performance measures, financial plans, and other relevant analyses for their respective operating unit P&L’s.
- Advise MA management on decisions such as how to improve performance, minimize risk or recognize efficiencies within their businesses. Design and develop financial models and metrics to measure performance, highlight key issues for senior management and predict future activity.
- Develop understanding of MA expenses as well as an understanding of the key assumptions and trends that may impact future performance and modelling this out.
- Lead the tracking of internal growth initiatives, understanding timing of delivery and outcomes, including the revenue benefits and capital outlays.
- Manage and coordinate with MA stakeholders on assumptions for monthly rolling forecast process, annual budget process, and strategic plan process. Work with other members of broader business planning team to understand underlying drivers.
- Work with the FP&A expense support team to guide and review the input of budget and quarterly forecast information into Moody’s planning systems, providing final sign off that the loads are aligned with expectations.
- Liaise with Business Planning compensation and position management team on resource planning and position budgeting, providing resource modelling to MA business leaders when necessary.
- Act as a mentor and facilitate training to junior members in the FP&A expense support team. Enable them to work directly with the business to support requests.
- Provide assistance in ad-hoc / special projects as required
- Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting
- MBA and/or relevant professional qualifications a plus
- Experience in using business intelligent tools, planning systems and financial modelling
- 4 - 7 years of relevant financial experience with planning and analysis processes
- Exposure to working with senior leaders on financial planning and/or reporting

Key competencies
- High proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Advanced experience with Hyperion Planning/Essbase or similar financial system such as Anaplan
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Energetic, progressive approach to the role, and a willing participant in continual process enhancement.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
- Strong communication skills
- Comfortable with ambiguity and adjusts to shifting priorities with appropriate sense of urgency
- Exhibits strong problem-solving skills
