We are one of the United State’s top automobile loan providers and we are searching for a** Microsoft** **Database Engineer **in Costa Rica (remote) to be responsible the designing, building and maintaining our data warehouse. You will help to analyze our current capabilities while designing the next generation solution that will be core to the data architecture of our future growth. As an experienced data warehouse engineer, you will also be responsible for working with developers and BI staff to ensure that they know how best to work with the warehouse to optimize our output.

**WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING**
- Provide technical leadership for strategy, architecture, design, development, testing, production launch, and ongoing support of our data warehouse.
- Provide architectural leadership for technology solutions, data architectures, data warehouse, cloud, and infrastructure initiatives
- Design and develop high volume data ingestion components and ETL solutions to collect data from various internal and external sources
- Recommend data governance processes, security standards, and models that will provide architectural guidelines to support the development initiatives
- Participate in strategic and tactical planning and design sessions and conduct “whiteboard” sessions with product management, BI, data engineering, architects, operations, and development team
- Ensures data quality and controls are in place to support of various data ingestion inflows and outflows processes
- Manage and use tools in data warehouse development and deployment such as ETL tools, data quality and cleansing tools, query/reporting tools, OLAP, data mining, etc.
- Drive decision-making processes to align with business priorities and objectives related to key architecture solutions
- Responsible for developing/implementing cloud infrastructure to support current and future business needs
- Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) functions from a variety of operational systems
- Developing and maintenance of Multi-Dimensional Data Cubes loaded from the Data Warehouse
- Assessing the performance and capacity requirements of the data warehouse
- Assessing and ensuring all operational aspects of the data warehouse, including availability, data integrity, data feeds, etc.
- Verifying that the architecture and implementation meets all user requirements.
- Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

**ESSENTIALS THAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL**
- Strong command of SSAS and/or Snowflake
- Understanding of relational, star and snowflake data modeling
- PowerShell and Unix shell scripting skills
- Familiarity with SSAS, SSIS, SSRS
- Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.

**EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 5+ years MS SQL data warehouse engineering or similar, preferably in the auto-finance industry.

- Ability to be sedentary for long periods of time.
