Senior Accountant- Corporate Accounting

The Senior Accountant works under the direction of their immediate manager to ensure accurate financial statements. Ensure all deliverables comply with regulatory guidance and professional standards

**The Role / Responsibilities**:

- Monthly accounting for Moody’s software development activities including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and expense analytics
- Assist with the accounting interpretation and provide guidance as needed to business stakeholders related to the internal-use software guidance ASC 350-40
- Partner with members of the Moody’s Finance organization to ensure the proper accounting of consulting and other professional costs
- Assist with monthly reporting, analytics and external disclosures on intangibles and fixed assets
- Review and prepare supporting documentation and account analyses for internal and external audits; manages audit relationships and acts as principle point of contact with respect to areas while ensuring efficiency and timeliness.
- Proactively performs ad-hoc account analyses and raises issues on a timely basis.
- Strong desire to keep up with advancements in technology and innovations occurring across the digital, analytics and CFO ecosystems.
- Identify, research, and resolve operational accounting issues through regular and special analysis to ensure proper accounting.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient accounting operation of respective areas and across Moody’s while ensuring the effectiveness and adherence to accounting controls.
- Review and sign-off on blackline account reconciliations ensuring the accurate representation of Moody’s financial statement account balances and adherence to the Company’s global balance sheet reconciliation policy.
- Degree in Accounting and CPA is a plus
- 3-5 years accounting experience (preferably with a major US CPA firm) or a combination of public accounting and industry experience preferred)
- High proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Power BI is a plus.
- Proficiency with SAP S/4 Hanna, ERP (Anaplan, Net Suite, One Stream), SAP Fiori is a plus
- Experience with Blackline Task and Reconciliation module is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and analytic skills, and keen attention to details
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines
- Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employee
- Ability to act and operate independently with mínimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
