We are currently seeking a Sr Database Administrator to join our team in Belen, Heredia (CR-H), Costa Rica (CR).

**Experience - **6 to 6 years

**Responsibilities**:
1. Develop database solutions to store and retrieve company information

2. Install and configure information systems to ensure functionality

4. Migrate data from legacy systems to new solutions

5. Design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts

6. Improve system performance by conducting tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new elements

7. Optimize new and current database systems

8. Define security and backup procedures

9. Coordinate with the Data Science department to identify future needs and requirements

10. Provide operational support for Management Information Systems (MIS)required

**Skills required**:
1. Proven work experience as a Data Architect, Data Scientist, Data Analyst or similar role

2. In-depth understanding of database structure principles

3. Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements

4. Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques

5. Expertise in SQL and Oracle

6. Proficiency in MS Excel

7. Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, D3.js and R)

8. Proven analytical skills

9. Problem-solving attitude

**Nice to Have**

1. Experienced in managing work with distributed teams

2. Experience working in SCRUM methodology

3. Proven sense of high accountability and self-drive to take on and see through big challenges

4. Confident, takes ownership, willingness to get the job done

5. Excellent verbal communications and cross group collaboration skills

**Education**

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent required
