Senior Product Designer

You have 3+ years of experience designing thoughtful user-centered digital products and user experiences. You have experience with industry-leading design tools and processes. You are interested in being part of a fast-paced, growing design team and have a knack for designing innovative solutions to address the challenges in the online gaming industry.

Located in both San Jose, Costa Rica and Montreal, Canada, we are a small but dedicated Marketing and Design Department servicing a large and established US-facing product entertainment group. We have a range of software entertainment solutions targeted at US Sports fans.

Our goal is to improve our digital products and experiences and make them the envy of the industry we work for.
What you will be doing
As a Senior Product Designer, you will work closely with stakeholders and software engineers to thoughtfully design our digital products.

Your core responsibilities:

- Be the voice of the user, and explore multiple ideas while also knowing when it needs to be ready for delivery
- Carry out comprehensive competitive analysis
- Work closely with UX researchers and other team members to distill research, data, competitive analysis and feedback into actionable user and product goals
- Independently lead all aspects of the design process from conception to completion
- Receive design feedback with professionalism and patience, and give clear and usable design feedback to fellow designers
- Work closely with others on our design system
- Conduct research when necessary, on areas being tackled
- Facilitate workshops, design sprints, and other collaborative sessions
- Uphold a high standard for design excellence, and contribute to raising the bar for design at the company
- Prototype products and features to facilitate testing, carry out user testing, get user feedback, assist with development decisions and mitigate risk. These range from simple click-throughs to higher fidelity prototypes.
- Have mastery of information architecture methods to structure content and features in a way that facilitates ease of use, discovery, and completion of tasks
- Present complex design concepts to key stakeholders and business partners.
- Helping teams empathize with users and championing for usability and accessibility
- Work with Customer Support teams to collect feedback, ideate solutions and follow up on released features
- Participate in design workshops/feedback sessions and act as a mentor for junior designers
- Support design ideas through excellent influencing and communication skills.

What we’d like to see in you
- 4+ years working in a digital design profession as a UX designer, interaction designer, product designer, or similar
- Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Computer science, HCI, interaction design, industrial design, communication design, architecture, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of working in a transactional or eCommerce platform
- Outstanding portfolio showing deep product understanding and craftsmanship, both UI and UX, and innovative solutions from conception to launch
- A practitioner of user-centric processes and design thinking principles
- Significant experience designing for multiple platforms, devices, screen sizes
- Ability to present and rationalize UX design strategy and decisions to diverse audiences, share knowledge and demonstrate design thinking in action.
- Enjoys solving complex problems while balancing strategy, research, information architecture
- Strong visual design skills
- Excellent communication & collaboration skills
- Excellent creative and critical thinking skills.
- Experience with UX research
- Experience building clean design artifacts (user flows, journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, specifications, and other design documentation)
- End-to-end design skills (from ideation to prototyping and full production).
- Experience working in an iterative/agile manner to dramatically improve prototypes quickly
- Mastery of standard design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe CS & XD)
- Solid understanding of design theory (typography, color, grid, etc.)
- Strong usability knowledge
- Early adopter who enjoys staying current on technology, design, and industry trends, and has a solid grasp of market trends
- Comfortable working with virtual teams across multiple time zones and geographies
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
