Role/Responsibilities

Moody’s CIT is looking for a Senior Technical Business Analyst to support customer-facing ESG product development initiatives. In particular, this role will focus on data analysis and agile story writing for our implementation of Snowflake. You will serve as the main contact with other business analysts and key partners from our data factory, Snowflake, and front-end teams to analyze data, define technical business requirements, validate requirements and keep relevant parties informed and engaged throughout the entire product lifecycle. You will regularly work with the product strategy team, data factory and data governance teams, program management, and development teams to drive the execution of key deliverables across at least 3 scrum teams.
THE POSITION REQUIRES THE CANDIDATE TO:
- Maintain US Eastern time zone working hours
- Support business requirement activities by providing end-to-end analysis with respect to data requirements, data flows, data modeling, workflow context and design, and user interface designs within and across Moody’s ESG Solutions
- Author thorough, detailed, high-quality documentation of all aspects of the systems in question, including data mapping, business requirements, non-functional requirements, use cases, and business system concept documents.
- Ensure alignment and resolve requirement conflicts between product strategy business analysts and technology as well as between development streams within CIT, with support from the Product Strategy Business Analysts, Product Strategy and Program Management leads
- Serve as an active and contributing member of agile scrum teams including story sizing, participating daily scrums, regular reporting on status and escalation as needed. Work to remove roadblocks, ensure clear and open communication, and ensure dependencies are called out and handled in partnership with scrum masters and program management.
- Contribute to project planning and project status activities, including end of sprint demo days, agile ceremonies, and long-term business planning activities
- Conduct usability testing to ensure the service and product meets the user’s needs.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science degree or equivalent experience required; IT or related technical field is highly preferred.
- 7 + years in system/business analysis and data analysis experience
- Understanding of data and analytics (ESG experience preferred); ability to train and learn quickly in areas with little prior experience
- Strong SQL querying skills required; experience with AWS Athena preferred
- Familiarity and previous work experience with Snowflake preferred
- Understanding of relational databases
- Experience working in Jira
- Solid experience in design thinking and agile product development required
- Good communication skills with the ability to summarize and explain sophisticated technical issues to business partners
- Ability to coordinate teams to resolve complex analytical and technical issues.
- Ability to prioritize work, and effectively communicate and call out blockers and issues to management
- Strong analytical/quantitative skills and the ability to translate analysis into concrete tasks
- Commercially focused around delivering end-client facing products
- Proactive and results-driven with ability to support clients across a distributed team
Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (i.e., at least 2 weeks after last dose) and, if hired, present proof of vaccination on start date, as determined by Moody’s.
