**Senior Engineer - Automation**

**Summary**

Responsible for designing and building custom automation and robotic equipment for medical device manufacturing. Must have a desire to learn and implement rapidly changing technology to deliver the best possible solution.
- Provides hands-on design expertise for internal and external projects
- Provides internal process analysis and recommendation for technical improvement
- Works effectively with suppliers and internal resources to achieve project objectives

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
- Observes processes and provides detailed analysis and recommendations for tooling, fixtures and automation improvements.
- Prepares accurate and detailed product specifications, project plans, project timelines, and other equipment specific documentation for internal or external sources.
- Accurately designs and details prints for equipment and tooling utilizing Solid Works solid modeling software
- Purchases, assembles and troubleshoots components and systems to ensure successful implementation and qualification in production.
- Manages project technical progress, schedule and financial impact to assure milestone achievement.
- Accurately reports and communicates progress and bottlenecks. Seeks additional resources when needed.
- Other duties as assigned

**Minimum Qualifications**
- BS in Engineering required
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in equipment development; Medical device industry experience required
- Experience with CAD for machine design, SolidWorks preferred
- Must demonstrate strong collaborative communication skills.
- Must possess a strong general understanding of mechanical, electro-mechanical, and automated systems.
- Must develop and follow a disciplined and detailed approach to project management and design process.
- Must be able to manage multiple parallel projects with varying scopes and deadlines from concept to production qualification using established HMC processes.
- Must be able to draw on prior knowledge and experience and adapt to initiate effective solutions to problems at hand.
- Must demonstrate a high level of initiative and creativity. Must be able to perform independently.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Must be adaptive to change and willing to support a variety of work assignments to fulfill internal and external customer expectations.
- Excellent and clear verbal and written communication skills in English
- Travel up to 15%. Must be willing and able to travel as needed.
