The Operations Manager is responsible for driving and leading the operations with the highest standards at Costa Rica site within the Customer Channels Group. The role is key to ensure compliance and alignment with the business goals, as well with the strategy and the annual operating plan by delivering consistent results against the business and customer’s expectations
**Main Responsibilities**
- Responsible for short
- and long-term strategies that drive supply/demand match to meet customer service level and agreements to build a positive customer experience by leading the supply chain, demand management, procurement, regulatory, quality and process excellence teams
- Continuously improve the business operations processes using PPI along with customer feedback to develop and maintain efficient practices
- Collaborate and partner with cross-functional groups to achieve tactical execution of plans according to the business objectives to ensure operational excellence, risk identification and compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards
- Manage daily operations to ensure we meet our customers expectations
**Detailed responsibilities**
**Distribution and Logistics**
Responsible for overall warehouse efficiency - performance metrics including the Distribution and Logistics Operations
- Lead supply chain activities for the procurement, imports, warehouse and delivery of products for our customers
- Supervise the logistics for the inbound and outbound of products, along with the relationship with the brokers for the respective registers within the FTZ
**Inventory Controls and Demand Planning**
Make an impact to the operation by effectively leading the inventory controls and driving the proper standardization and measurement of KPI to assure compliance
- Create, analyze, communicate, and follow up of the excess and obsolete products of the site based on the divisional policies
- Review and approve the inventory purchase of direct sourcing and Intercompany materials to support the customer requirements
- Lead the product disposition process according to the Free Trade Zone regulations, Customs, Waste Management, and others, ensuring the right regulatory compliance
**Quality Assurance**
Lead and handle the quality related activities w/in the Team to maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Define, implement, and supervises the quality strategies and processes to ensure compliance of the Operations and Commercial activities related to the ISO 9001:2015 standard
- Provide results of the Quality Management Systems as needed according to the procedures and policies established in Master Control
**Compliance**
Perform Global Trade Compliance activities to assure compliance with corporate requirements of the Costa Rica Operation
- Responsible for imports, export, FTZ, Hazmat, and other regulatory compliance
- Ensure accurate communication to the Costa Rica Drug Control Institute when dealing with chemical precursors
- Design, implement, or coordinate product disposal to ensure products are recycled, reused, or responsibly disposed according to the Free Trade Zone Regulations and local law requirements
**Continuous Improvement**
Provide leadership to accomplish continuous improvement in the operation by advocating and driving the PPI Business System
- Facilitate operational excellence efforts (JDI, VSM, RCCM, Kaizen, among others) to remove execution barriers within the business
- Set the expectation and behaviors to drive the continuous improvement culture with Leader Standard Work, Daily Accountability, Gemba Walks and Visual Management
**Facilities**
Supervise the management of the facility to support the operation and act as main point of contact
- Perform space planning and review site density to secure the business needs related to infrastructure and equipment’s
- Supervise security of the COYOL site, employees, and equipment
**Environment, Health and Safety**
Perform EHS activities to assure compliance with corporate requirements of the Costa Rica Operation
- Communicate the EHS requirements to the personnel for the adequate behavior within the facility for safety purposes and adherance to SOOS program
- Supervise all aspects of hazardous material storage, handling, transportation and disposal according to company methodology, local laws, and regulatory entities
**Accounting**
Provide support to external accounting firm, serving as point of contact for the requests and needs for them
