Job Description

This role has been designated as 'Edge', which means you will primarily work outside of an office.

We are redefining the IT EDGE, creating new customer experiences by building intelligent spaces and digital workspaces.

This involves campus, branch, mobility, and IoT to transform business models with compute, context, control, and secure connectivity.

As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will design, develop, validate, and debug embedded software for new and existing products.

You will implement software including operating systems, daemons, libraries, network protocols, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is looking for skilled engineers who can determine hardware compatibility and/or influence hardware design.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing enhancements, updates, and programming changes for system software portions and subsystems.
  • Analyzing designs and determining coding, programming, and integration activities required based on objectives and knowledge of overall architecture.
  • Effectively participating in teams to develop reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions for assigned systems portion or subsystem.
  • Collaborating and communicating with management, testers, and development partners regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
  • Providing guidance and mentoring to less experienced team members.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Typically 4-6 years of experience as a software developer.
  • Proficiency in multiple software systems design tools and languages.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to design software systems running on multiple platform types.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; English professional proficiency.
  • Ability to communicate product architectures, design proposals, and negotiate options with stakeholders.
