**Job Summary**
We are seeking an experienced open source leader to manage and maintain a cloud operations framework that supports all of our cloud operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing the framework, developing a globally distributed team of engineers, and ensuring the framework provides a reliable, easy-to-use solution that scales to production workloads and meets the needs of our customers.
This is a unique opportunity to lead a team that produces high-quality products, maintains a culture of quality and engineering excellence, and grows a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in line with our company values.
- You will be responsible for directly contributing toward your team's goals by demonstrating sound engineering principles.
- You will work closely with other teams in Canonical to ensure the framework provides a reliable, easy-to-use solution that scales to production workloads and meets the needs of our customers.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Design and maintain a cloud operations framework that supports all of our cloud operations.
- Develop and grow a globally distributed team of engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development.
- Work closely with other teams in Canonical to ensure the framework provides a reliable, easy-to-use solution that scales to production workloads and meets the needs of our customers.
**Requirements**
- An extensive background in Python software engineering, demonstrating sound design principles.
- Experience developing open source libraries and frameworks, understanding the importance of stable consumable APIs.
- Loving embracing new technologies and pushing the boundaries of what is possible, with a view to building products that improve how people operate software and infrastructure everywhere.
- A track record of developing and growing people and leading, managing, coaching, and mentoring software developers towards delivering timely, high-quality software together with them.
- Solid experience working in an agile development environment.
