Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Architectural Design Manager to lead our project teams in delivering high-quality architectural projects. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of coordinating with consultants, managing project documentation, and driving client projects from concept to completion.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of projects, from project setup to construction administration.
- Manage project scheduling, budgets, and communication with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants.
- Supervise project developments and manage related costs using digital tools.
- Guarantee the delivery of architectural and technical aspects of projects.
- Provide project team coordination, specification, and material selections required for construction.
- Resolve complex technical and design issues during document preparation and construction administration.
- Manage project team sizes comprised of consultants, project architects, interior designers, and job captains.
- Prepare and ensure accuracy of technical documents.
- Participate in preconstruction phases, RFIs, and value engineering.
- Participate in construction administration of project assignments, including quality control and submittal reviews.
- Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives.
- Produce architectural drawings and conduct site inspections.
- Manage client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape civil consultants, and involved parties.
- Support communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials.
- Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions to resolve complex technical and design challenges.
- Review technical documents to ensure accuracy.
- Oversight of the construction administration of project assignments with focus on managing design intent and quality control.
- Ability to maintain design integrity, construction quality, and supervision of materials meeting international standards.
- Lead coordination with contractors, fabricators, and regulatory agencies to ensure constructed projects meet overall project objectives.
- Able to perceive or prevent risks in any part of the process.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Architecture or foreign equivalent.
- 8+ years of experience in architectural design.
- Proficiency in REVIT, SketchUp, and construction administration software.
- 100% bilingual English/Spanish, well written with excellent verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of national and international building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures.
- Mid-scale to large construction experience.
- Experience with entire project lifecycle, through post-occupancy.
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Construction documentation and/or design detail development experience.
- Ability to handle difficult situations with tact, grace, and emotional intelligence.
- Experience leading, managing, and mentoring multiple project teams.
- Proven fiscal accountability and responsibility on various project types.
- Ability to maintain existing client relationships and build new client relationships.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
