Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our team in Cartago, Costa Rica. This is a unique opportunity to be part of our green field start-up operation and play a key role in shaping the future of our manufacturing site. The successful candidate will lead a technical team responsible for equipment engineering and manufacturing readiness activities, ensuring seamless execution of projects and continuous improvement of processes.

About the Role
- Tactical: The Engineering Manager will be responsible for building a technical team that coordinates all equipment engineering and MFG Eng readiness activities for the Cartago site. This includes duplication, improvements, validations, and maintenance strategy for all transfer lines equipment, test method validations for all processes, technical training, and certification for engineers.
- Strategic: The Engineering Manager is key to develop the new site culture, being an early adopter of the delivering excellence strategy, hiring the right talent, and being responsible for several financial metrics associated with green field project (now) and plant execution (future).
This leader will also be responsible to build a strategy supporting technical needs and technology opportunities associated with equipment and process of products being transferred.

Your Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and technical guidance to manufacturing and equipment engineering staffs.
- Lead the teams in the innovation, design, development, and implementation of manufacturing processes, procedures, tooling, and equipment for the production and transfer of medical devices.
- Through activity prioritization and resource leveling, ensures adequate engineering resources are available to meet the business priorities as defined by the strategic plan and budget.
- Drive continuous improvement in all processes, plant-wide.
- Actively support the engineering essentials program
- Drives use of the Value Improvement Process (VIP) as the primary tool for Operations Cost Reduction.
- Development of necessary Manufacturing Process's on-site ensuring optimization of layout, process flow or overall process capability.
- Identifies and champions product development and functional excellence initiatives.
- Drives new product and processing technologies that are designed for manufacturability.

What We Are Looking For
- Licenciature in Engineering plus 10 years of related work experience.
- 3+ years of experience leading technical teams/organizations.
- Experience in managing large-scale, complex operations/programs/projects
- Excel in collaborative leadership
- Experience in the Medical Device Industry
- Collaborative individual with the ability to influence
- Strong Functional / Technical Knowledge.
- Mature Problem Solving and Critical Thinking skills
- English 90% to 100%.
