The Tax Supervisor oversees this position, which supports federal, state, and local tax compliance across all World Fuel Services, Inc entities, including managing payments for related liabilities and maintaining tax-related records.
Main Duties:
- Submitting monthly, quarterly, and annual fuel excise and sales tax returns on time
- Verifying tax liability accounts for accuracy
- Updating tax exemption and tax rule databases regularly
- Conducting necessary tax research to ensure compliance with state filing requirements
- Utilizing Avalara software for EDI reporting to various jurisdictions
- Communicating effectively regarding tax notices received
- Providing information on motor vehicle tax and sales tax questions by researching and interpreting state communications
- Ensuring all compliance requirements are met internally and externally
- Assisting in State audits
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in accounting or finance
- Strong English language skills
- 1 to 3 years of experience in Excise sales tax
- Proficiency in excel, lookups, pivots, formulas
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
