**Job Description**

As an Associate in the Corporate Finance Group (CFG), you will play a pivotal role in supporting the success of the Ratings & Research Support (RRS) and Ratings & Research (R&R) teams.

You will be responsible for providing analytical support services that contribute to the overall credit analysis function performed by these teams.

This role will focus primarily on supporting CFG, dedicated to rating non-financial corporate issuers, with potential opportunities for cross-training in supporting various asset classes and methodologies as part of career progression.

**Key Responsibilities**:

  • Perform preliminary credit analysis to support ratings, research, analytical outreach, and presentations under guidance from the D&A Manager.
  • Interpret and analyze financial data provided by Financial Data Analysts (FDAs) group to perform the preliminary credit analysis.
  • Demonstrate the ability to understand and identify key factors affecting issuers and issuer credit ratings under full supervision and guidance from the D&A Manager.
  • Support credit monitoring/surveillance of issuers by preparing data for surveillance, periodically updating preliminary components of analysis, and initiating/escalating deeper credit reviews when necessary.
  • Perform routine administrative and other ad hoc credit-related tasks as directed by the D&A Manager.
  • Collaborate with other Associates and Financial Data Analysts (FDAs) in D&A under the overall supervision of the D&A Manager.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A minimum undergraduate/first-level degree in Economics, Finance, or Accounting.
  • Preferably some relevant experience, particularly in non-financial corporate companies.
  • Solid Accounting background with a strong focus on financial analysis through coursework or relevant work experience.
  • Intermediate skill level with MS Excel and knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint.
  • Solid verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Written and spoken fluency in English is required; Spanish and/or Portuguese is preferred.
