Role Overview
The IT General Control (ITGC) Lead will be responsible for supporting the development of controls governance processes, standards, design, and business implementation of Experian's Information Technology General Controls (ITGC's) as they relate to our internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) through advice, oversight, and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Group Risk Controls Team in driving our risk and control maturity.
- Support the development and maintenance of ITGC governance processes for controls with a focus on control objective definition, control design and associated oversight and QA processes.
- Partnering with business units and control owners to understand our control environment, support documentation and identify control weaknesses or gaps.
- Lead implementation of controls for in scope business units across regions with accountability for driving the pace and completeness based on agreed prioritisation outcomes.
- Support policy owners in articulating control objectives.
- Implement and execute quality assurance processes for controls to validate that documented control objective and activities comply with defined governance processes and are appropriately recorded in Archer GRC.
- Coaching and support to policy, risk and control owners across 1LOD and other 2LOD functions to enable adherence to control frameworks and governance.
- Support with the development of any required training requirements working with our Training teams to prioritize course creation and delivery.
- Supporting our assurance and reporting teams with testing of our ITGC where required.
- Assistance in the co-ordination and provision of control information to support internal, external or client audits as required.
Requirements
- 6-10 years experience in a risk management, controls or audit role with at least 2-3 years of that time working in transformational projects or a global organization.
- Tier-1-2 consulting experience and/or work in a technology or similar company is a plus.
- Good understanding of best practice risk and control frameworks with a specific focus on IT General controls within an ICFR framework.
- Experience of Finance systems and a familiarisation with key financial accounting processes.
- Experience of control design and testing, internal audit, risk management, information security, finance or operational management roles. Risk transformation and controls implementation experience would be beneficial.
- Experience of delivering a change agenda that involves having to successfully influence a range of stakeholders who are not in their reporting line.
- Self-motivated team player with an entrepreneurial yet pragmatic mindset and get-things-done mentality.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a global team, across multiple time zones, with different regions and many workstreams.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to formulate insights around complex business problems with senior audiences.
- Experience of RSA ARCHER beneficial but not essential.
- Ability to adapt quickly and work independently.
- Gravitas, comfortable expressing views in front of senior executives.
- Reliable and diligent personality with eagerness to contribute to the success of the team.
