Sgf Global is a leading enterprise in Heredia, Costa Rica, seeking a talented Data and Analytics Engineer to join our IT team.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis and a passion for developing innovative solutions using Power BI. We are looking for someone who can design and implement internal process improvements, optimize data delivery, and create scalable data sets.


This role involves building existing data assets, preparing data to meet specific reporting and analytics needs, and creating data solutions to enable automated and self-service data consumption. Additionally, the successful candidate will model, design, develop, test, and implement complex backend and front-end structures to meet business visualization, reporting, and analytics requirements.

Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Confirmed skills in enabling data content for reporting or analytics solutions
  • Experience in Power BI to build complex solutions including data transformation, data modeling, and data visualizations
  • Experience with data visualization best practices and design principles
  • Experience in SQL queries to build medium to complex queries
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience
  • Knowledge in Power BI, specific on Semantic Models and Dataflow services (preferred)
  • Experience and/or interest in chemistry, the specialty chemical industry, and the replacement of petroleum products with sustainable solutions (preferred)
  • Experience in Data Management and/or Data Governance to maintain/improve a Data Catalog (preferred)
  • Confirmed skills in querying relational databases with query language (preferred)
  • Confirmed experience working with large data stores (preferred)
  • Knowledge of data integration tools and methodologies (preferred)
  • Experience with cloud-based business intelligence solutions (preferred)
  • Understanding of business processes and key performance indicators (KPIs) (preferred)
  • Familiarity with scripting languages for data manipulation (e.g., Python, R) (preferred)

Responsabilities:



  • Design and implement internal process improvements, optimize data delivery, and create scalable data sets
  • Build existing data assets and prepare data to meet specific reporting and analytics needs
  • Build data solutions to enable automated and self-service data consumption
  • Model, design, develop, test, and implement complex backend and front-end structures to meet business visualization, reporting, and analytics requirements
  • Evaluate the performance of processes, services, and outcomes and recommend performance improvement
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data and reporting requirements
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff
  • Other duties as assigned
