We are seeking a skilled Maintenance and Operations Specialist to join our team at Edwards Lifesciences in Costa Rica. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our manufacturing plant's facilities and building systems.

This role involves maintaining one or more facility systems, including process water system, HVAC system, clean room system, boiler system, incoming power, water supply, air compressed system, building maintenance, fire protection system, sanitary system, and janitorial service. You will participate in facilities operation meetings to discuss preventative maintenance projects and maintain facilities system procedures to ensure compliance with quality and EHS systems.

You will establish sections of preventive maintenance programs to maintain and improve all facilities and building systems' reliability, assist in reviewing maintenance contracts, and maintain facilities and building systems to ensure discharge and emission comply with EHS and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain facilities system procedures to ensure compliance to quality and EHS system
  • Establish sections of preventive maintenance program to maintain and improve all facilities and building systems reliability
  • Assist in reviewing maintenance contracts
  • Maintain facilities and building systems to ensure discharge and emission complies to EHS and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in facilities operation meeting to discuss preventative maintenance projects
  • Achieve plant EHS goals by collaborating with technicians/contractors to ensure that their work is performed safely
  • Assist in assigning day to day tasks to technicians maintaining facilities reliability and support internal customers requests
  • Provide training and guidance to facilities technicians to achieve department goals for facilities and building systems reliability
  • Attend cross functional operation and quality meetings to discuss project requirements and update facilities metrics

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • 1 year of experience in related field
  • Experience working in a medical device manufacturing environment preferred

Skills:

  • Good computer skills in MS Office Suite
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Proven success adhering to and leading project schedules and participating in projects
  • Good understanding and knowledge of facilities systems and preventive maintenance programs
  • Good knowledge of facilities related government regulations, GMP, and EHS
  • Good problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strict attention to detail
  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
