Job Description: Data Assurance
Data Assurance plays a vital role in leading investigations of data loads and adopted models/processes that bring measurable quality improvement and maintenance to the Experian BIS Commercial Data Repository. Our goal is to assess and improve business data maintenance processes through the adoption of machine-learning, big data, and other advanced analytical techniques.
You'll lead analytical projects from solution design and data evaluation through solution development, documentation, and implementation. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing diagnostic analytics and pattern identification to conduct root cause analysis of errors or deficiencies
- Forecasting likelihood of future data defects, developing a predictive scoring model, and determining steps for corrective action on reported errors
- Developing tools for data processing and information retrieval, writing documentation of model performance and features, and presenting results
- Collaborating with technology and other business teams, maintaining continuous learning of new technologies and data science-related topics
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A minimum of 5+ years of working experience in business analytics or data model development and implementation
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
- The ability to independently support existing products, innovate new solutions, and mentor less senior team members
- Statistical Analysis skills, including designing research approaches to investigate trends, patterns, and relationships using statistical methods and tests to reach actionable conclusions and understand causal relationships
- Programming skills, including composing clean, understandable, and reproducible expert-level code in Python and/or R
- Machine Learning/Modeling skills, including understanding what types of algorithms to use, their benefits and drawbacks, and how to implement them
- Data Wrangling skills, including writing efficient SQL queries from scratch that blend data from dozens of sources in the right form for modeling, analysis, and scoring
- Source code management skills using tools like Git
- A degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Statistics, Applied Math, Information Technology, or other quantitative fields (advanced degree preferred)
- Experience working with Agile methodologies, like Scrum
- Experience with Hadoop and NoSQL related technologies such as Map Reduce, Spark, Hive, Pig, HBase, mongoDB, Cassandra, etc.
Bonus Requirements
If you have any of the following, it would be fantastic:
- Advanced/Expert level experience in any flavor of SQL
- Experience in one or more of the Cloud Environments (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
- Proficiency in NLP/Text mining techniques, deep learning, and related open-source tools
- Proficiency with Bayesian statistical inference and related machine learning methods
