At Emerson, we are seeking a skilled Purchasing Specialist to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality control of requisitions and ascertaining if complete requisitions have been provided.

Key responsibilities include generating purchase orders and purchase order amendments as required, clearing requisitions for entry into the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System, and transitioning them to the buyer if necessary.

The Purchasing Specialist will also verify single or sole source documentation per applicable standard and Department of Acquisition (DOA) requirements.

Distribution of Purchase Orders for approval and working within the Global DOA approval authorities are essential aspects of this role.

Maintaining accuracy in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system data throughout the Procure-to-Pay cycle is critical.

This includes issuing and expediting supplier acknowledgements in conformance with agreed final Purchase Orders, receiving acknowledgement and updating the ERP system, expediting shipment and materials per project procedures, informing local offices about the status of shipments, arranging for receiving and inspection of goods when required, coordinating with logistics on custom clearance, and acknowledging receipt of shipments into the ERP system.

Administering Purchase Order reconciliation and closure of Purchase Orders as per standard policy are additional responsibilities.

The successful candidate will also support overall suppliers' evaluation in terms of procurement performance, perform regulations and compliance analysis, ensure adherence to Emerson's Record Retention Policy and Ethics Policy at all times, and maintain accurate records of ERP system transactions.

A key aspect of this role is proactive engagement in communication with Local Project Procurement Leads (PPLs), internal customers, and suppliers, as well as timely professional communication and responsiveness.

Ongoing learning and development are encouraged to ensure continued proficiency in purchasing processes defined standards and procedures.

We require a degree holder in Commerce, Materials Management, or Supply Chain Management or similar field, with 1-3 years of relevant work experience.

A strong understanding of purchasing principles and practices, ability to analyze data, and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.
