Laundry Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Laundry Assistant to join our team at Residence Inn San Jose Escazu. As a key member of our housekeeping and laundry department, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and quality of our guests' linens and uniforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor washing, drying, and dry cleaning machinery, including adding detergents and cleaning lint traps.
• Identify stained or damaged items and determine their status for repair, spot treatment, rewash, or discard.
• Inspect the cleanliness of articles removed from washers, dryers, or dry-cleaning machines and place them in clean linen carts.
• Set dryers to designated times and temperatures based on fabric types contained in each load.
• Remove lint and debris from dryer screens, dry cleaning filters, and drain traps after each use.
• Fold cleaned articles into designated sizes, either by hand or using a folding machine.
• Maintain accurate records of items laundered.
• Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures, reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management.

Requirements:

• Able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or throughout a work shift.
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Capable of moving through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces.
• Can navigate sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as stairs and service ramps.
• Able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
