Job Description

The Financial Operations Director will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Revenue Accounting team in Costa Rica, ensuring timely and accurate completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the Revenue Accounting team to ensure compliance with financial reporting deadlines and control policies.
  • Analyze and balance revenue accounts, identifying non-compliance with US GAAP.
  • Support integration of acquisitions into Moody's systems and processes.
  • Lead interactions with Global Sales, Sales Operations, Legal, and FP&A to provide timely finance support on contracts reviews and forecasted revenue changes.
  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and analyses completed by the Revenue Team.
  • Implement and complete controls to facilitate compliance with U.S. requirements and national and/or regional laws and regulations.
  • Provide assistance to external audit and SOX/internal audit requests.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • Minimum 6 years of accounting experience.
  • Advanced understanding of accounting policies, U.S. GAAP, statutory accounting principles, and tax requirements.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (preferably SAP).
  • Ability to communicate ideas both orally and in writing to influence others.
