We're looking for a skilled **Automation Specialist** to join our team at Cognizant Technology Solutions.

As an Automation Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting one of our clients as a **Test Automation Developer**:

**Responsibilities:**

- Create/modify/review Master Test Strategy documents for large engagements.

- Develop test estimations, project/sprint planning efforts, and leverage previous project experience/learning for better requirement analysis.

- Review architecture & design work products by applying White Box testing techniques to identify defects using predefined checklists and Cognizant solution accelerators.

**Test Strategy and Test Planning:**

- Develop test strategies that include release dates, types of testing, scope of the project, detail explanations of particular releases, RAID Risk, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies.

- Gather inputs from the client, such as types of testing, development teams, client managers, etc.

- Prepare test plans covering timelines, resource deployment, and how testing will be conducted.

- Seek signoff on the test plan and involve project/sprint planning to define sprint goals, scrum review meetings, identify product backlogs, and provide risks/issues to the scrum team for quicker remediation.

- Review and seek signoff from customers on Retrospection Reports and Lesson Learnt for every release.

**Test Design Techniques (Design principles/tools/patterns):**

- Review test scenarios and seek reviews as required.

- Track the root cause of review comments and take actions to resolve them.

- Review test cases and traceability matrices to ensure total coverage of requirements.

- Track downtime and report it to the client.

- Support teams and clients in conducting UAT/BUT if applicable.

- Perform sanity testing to ensure system readiness for testing.

- Upload test cases.

- Validate readiness of the test environment for test execution.

- Prepare test labs for test execution.

- Seek signoff from clients at various stages of the cycle as required.

**Coding Practices & Defect Management:**

- Possess a holistic view of quality, domain, user experience, Black Box, and White Box testing.

- Estimate and commit task-level effort and deliver activities on time.

- Review defects logged by teams and assign them to the right owner.

- Effectively communicate technically by participating in architectural/design reviews.

- Speak the developer language.

- Support Quality Assurance goals.

- Adhere to all customer standards, policies, and governance practices.

- Understand the full development lifecycle and actively participate in all phases.

- Involve development teams and architects early in the project life cycle to identify dependencies on architecture design, low-level design components, coding standards, test data dependencies, environment dependencies, etc.

**Test Execution (Automation/Specialized testing):**

- Design and implement best-in-class automation frameworks based on the Application Under Test (AUT).

- Review test results and clarify doubts/query raised by teams during execution.

- Prepare Test Summary Reports and share them for review.

- Capture Lesson Learnt and best practices adopted.

- Periodically generate metrics based on the audience.

- Review metrics to identify areas for process optimization.

- Create robust test automation scripts.

- Design Web Services testing frameworks.

- Define, deploy, and monitor metrics configuration.

- Possess expert knowledge of multithreading and other QE tools & technology.

- Discuss with development, release, and deployment team stakeholders to make go/no-go decisions based on test results and test closure summary reports.

- Possess specialist knowledge on Continuous Integration/Deployment & Delivery using industry-best tools & technologies.

- Perform frequent monitoring & failure analysis.

- Perform script fixing for any errors/issues.

- Share status with onsite teams across all teams.

- Frequent optimization/maintenance.

**Technology consulting Research & analysis:**

- Code quality, coverage, and productivity analysis to ensure all areas of the program are exercised by test suites.
