Job Title: Industrial Engineer II

Smith+Nephew is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer II to join our team. As an Industrial Engineer II, you will be responsible for owning the manufacturing plant tactical capacity planning processes, measuring, analyzing, improving, and integrating the capacity, maintaining, and improving the production model incorporating all the complexities through an organized, efficient, and flexible method easy to understand which can anticipate risks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide sustaining and training in the following tasks: operations video recording, time study, creation of line balance, labor standard calculation, line Inventory definition (WIP), layout drawing and Implementation, savings calculation, SPQDC change control, standard work Kaizen events, standard work and 5'S visual sheets development, value stream mapping Kaizen, space release kaizen events, use of A3 project management, labor budget and forecast (Including projects) calculation, projects formulation and financial evaluation, understand and use SAP to acquire the vital daily information, ability to work with people at all levels.
  • Evaluate, propose, and own the relevant capacity planning instruments and strategies.
  • Support capacity model implementation which facilitates the recording and analysis of information, as well as the trust level.
  • Develop a medium-term period (2 years) capacity and/or production plan, that satisfies the anticipated demand and guarantees the higher plant efficiency as possible.
  • Lead Management presentations of all capacity plans that guarantee compliance with the production plan.
  • Develop and handle an efficiency priorities list to fulfill the needs in time and quantity.
  • Continuously evaluate current manufacturing capacity, production alternatives and strategies to facilitate new product introductions
  • See opportunities for processes and equipment rearrangement to release physical space, turning it into productivity improvement.
  • Promotes the use of tools, models, methods, and theories of Industrial Engineering, seeking a structured way to achieve improvements, as well as provide sustainability over time.
  • Proactively perform root cause analysis, and develop Manufacturing optimization methods and solutions.
  • Use Manufacturing Instructions (MPI's), Bill of Materials (BOM's), Nonconformity Reports (NCRs), and Routes (Routers) to verify the capacity analysis and improvements comply according to Quality System definition.
  • Create Value Stream Maps (time taking, waste measurement, line standardization and balance).
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree BSc in Industrial Engineering, Process and Quality Engineering or related field.
  • Desirable: Master's degree in administration, Industrial Engineering, or project management.
  • Any of these certifications will be welcome: LSSBB, LSSGB, SMPC, SPOPC, ISO 13485 certification, CAPM, PMP.
  • Proven ability of minimum 3 years of experience in Industrial Engineering roles or high-volume manufacturing Process Engineering as industrial engineer.
  • MS Office package (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and AutoCAD.
  • Statistical Analysis abilities.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SAP, Smart Solve knowledge.
  • Project Manager knowledge (nice to have).
  • Knowledge of MES (Manufacturing Execution System).
  • Advanced English level.
