Job Overview:

Viant Medical seeks an experienced Senior Buyer to lead strategic procurement efforts, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality raw materials and components while maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Purchasing best quality raw materials, components, and production supplies at lowest cost according to established policies and ensures timely delivery.

  • Follows Viant's price increase negotiation strategies to push back on supplier price increases.

  • Maintains PPV log tool updated with unfavorable PPV impacts.

  • Maintains raw materials, components, and supplies at required inventory levels.

  • Processes requisitions for raw materials, indirect products, or services and converts them into POs through the ERP system.

  • Confirms PO information with suppliers and updates as required.

  • Reviews daily open order report and takes appropriate action.

  • Manages PO dates properly to maintain accurate promise date for OTD information.

  • Responsible for expediting, following up, or extending deliveries of all open purchase orders.

  • Manages return authorization requests and negotiates credit, reworks, or replacements.

  • Responsible for purchase order accuracy regarding billed price and quantity.

  • Maintains strong supplier relationships and meets with vendors as necessary regarding capabilities, price quotes, or production problems.

  • Participates in the process development of alternate suppliers and Supplier Performance scoring process.

  • Leads and participates in functional projects and partners with internal customers to identify and execute projects to meet global supply chain initiatives.

  • Uses data-driven analysis methods to identify root cause problem areas and leads corrective action.

  • Trains, mentors, and assists Buyers with job-related questions and issues.

  • Participates in corporate Sourcing initiatives and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field preferred.

  • APICS Certification preferred, but not required.

  • 5-7 years of experience in a buying/purchasing function or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience in medical device industry highly desirable.

Compensation:

$90,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience.
