Job Description
The Tax Accountant will support federal, state, and local tax compliance across all World Fuel Services entities, including payments for related liabilities and maintenance of tax-related records.
This role involves preparation of tax returns, reconciliation of tax liability accounts, and maintenance of tax exemption and tax rule databases. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge in Excel and have experience with Excise sales tax.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit tax returns on time.
- Reconcile tax liability accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Update tax exemption and tax rule databases regularly.
- Conduct tax research to ensure compliance with state filing requirements.
- Utilize Avalara software for EDI reporting.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding tax notices.
- Provide assistance in State audits as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 1-3 years of Excise sales tax experience.
- Advanced knowledge in Excel and lookups.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
