Job Overview

The Product Owner is a critical role within Verisk, responsible for driving the growth and success of one or more Product Lines. This individual will support the Product Manager and operate as the 'Voice of Product' with technical development teams.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development Roadmap Planning & Execution

  • Support and help manage the product development roadmap, partnering with the Product Manager to manage development initiatives for the product line.
  • Lead product acceptance for newly developed features, working closely with technical leaders and development teams to drive execution and deliver on target release dates.
  • Communicate roadmap obstacles and prioritization decisions to stakeholders.

Product Delivery & Operations

  • Collaborate with internal teams and the Product Manager to define and improve the process for delivering the product line to customers.
  • Operate as tier 2 support for escalations, acting as a researcher and decision maker for issues and errors related to product delivery.
  • Manage the Product Feedback Loop queue, ensuring customer-derived feedback and features are integrated into ongoing development.

Customer / Prospect Relationships & Market Facing Activities

  • Support the Product Manager and Solutions Consultant in high-value, strategic opportunities, providing escalated product support and technical guidance.

Go-to-Market Positioning, Sales Strategy, and Sales Execution

  • Support the go-to-market positioning for the product line, helping the Product Manager with product feature and performance analysis.

Outcomes of Success

  • Manage execution of the Technical Roadmap for the Product Line, overseeing the launch of new products and features.
  • Build trust and strong collaborative working relationships with technical teams and leadership, contributing to a 'one team, one set of goals' culture.
Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a Product, Project Management, Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or related role.
  • BS degree in a technical or business field or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • A self-motivated team player with a strong ability to learn and adapt.
  • Familiarity with SQL and API technologies.
  • Prior work experience with a Data and/or SaaS company is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies, Agile/Scrum, and PMO best practices is preferred.
  • Insurance, Financial Services, AdTech/MarTech/Media industry/vertical knowledge is a strong plus.
  • Product Owner training/certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Jira, Confluence, and data visualization platforms.
