Develop and implement comprehensive port security strategies to mitigate risks and ensure the safe and secure movement of cargo.
Non-Intrusive Inspection ExpertiseProvide expert advice and guidance on the use and implementation of Non-Intrusive Inspection (NII) systems, including X-Ray and Gamma radiation sources.
Capacity Building and Knowledge SharingFacilitate capacity building and knowledge sharing to enhance the ability of senior management at the Ministry of Security to oversee port security activities.
Port Security Needs AssessmentsPrepare and conduct port security needs assessments for the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Section (INL) at the US Embassy in San Jose, Costa Rica.
Technical Assistance and SupportProvide technical assistance and support to Costa Rican port security officials and police officers to enhance their knowledge and skills in port security matters.
Requirements- Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as security, law enforcement, or a related field.
Security ClearanceMust be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance to gain Embassy access and be eligible for continued employment.
Language SkillsFluent in English and Spanish, with a 4/4 level in English and a 3/3 level in Spanish.
Technical SkillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to use technical equipment such as X-Ray and Gamma radiation sources.
