The Global Master Data Leadership Specialist plays a vital role in leading our global operational team in Costa Rica and China. As part of our 9-step program, this person will oversee the application of best practices in all areas. Additionally, they will be responsible for hiring and developing the right employees, ensuring the team's success.

In the Global Master Data Team, the Global Master Data Leadership Specialist proposes improvements related to team development and performance. They guarantee timely, accurate, and compliant services while maintaining quality standards. This is a global role supporting all businesses and sites worldwide.

Main Responsibilities

  • Align with domain owners on priorities to achieve overall team goals and Lonza's strategy and priorities.
  • Evaluate the team's composition to ensure it can work efficiently and handle various topics and stakeholders effectively.
  • Represent the Global Master Data Team globally, implementing standards and ensuring consistency.
  • Provide input to the Global Master Data Team's development, strategy, and highlight opportunities for improvement.
  • Engage the right stakeholders in discussions to develop optimized solutions.
  • Address escalations and challenges from team members, business units, or enabling functions.
  • Develop and empower the team daily, providing necessary training.
  • Handle standard requests globally and optimize the team's handling of daily activities.
  • Manage special requests for Master Data domains and regions.
  • Escalate complex requests to respective domain owners.
  • Troubleshoot Master Data issues.
  • Support the Global Master Data Team in tasks such as reports, cleansing, and simple mass changes or assigned tasks.
  • Monitor employee productivity, offer constructive feedback, and coaching.
  • Organize workflow and ensure employees understand their duties or delegated tasks.
  • Set performance goals and deadlines aligning with the company's plans and vision.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, IT, Finance, Mathematics, Chemical/Bio Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced English Level (B2+, C1 level).
  • Experience with Master Data, preferably in Material Master Data.
  • Significant experience in managing a team during periods of substantial change.
  • Working experience in leading continuous improvement projects.
  • Proficient user of ERP (SAP) and Excel skills (including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables).
  • Analytical skills, willingness to take on new challenges, support a culture of process improvement and problem-solving, and deliver results on time.
  • Able to make accurate and timely decisions.
  • Understand internal and/or external customer needs.
  • Maintain quality standards while delivering results.
