Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Controller Specialist to join our team at Splunk Old (Read Only). In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the review and approval of purchase orders and hiring requisitions to ensure all relevant financial information is accurately recorded.
  • Develop and analyze monthly and quarterly spend purchase order based accruals, and expense trending reports.
  • Collaborate with various functional departments and internally within Finance as appropriate.
  • Mentor and coach other CFO departmental analysts and manage FinOps analysts after establishing a track record of delivering on individual assignments.
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements to enhance the overall operation and efficiency of the Finance organization.

Requirements:

  • 7.5+ years of related finance or accounting experience, including some prior experience with managing project team members who either directly or indirectly reported to them.
  • Able to get into the details and get the job done while at the same time being able to see the forest for the trees.
  • Ability to work well under deadline pressure, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and stay flexible through growth and change.
  • Strong customer service orientation and a desire to help others succeed, across the team and their stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative abilities.
  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Comfortable completing projects requiring individual initiative and flexibility in tight time frames with some direct supervision as required.
  • Basic financial acumen broadly across the organization.
  • Project planning, coordination, communications and process/system change experience a plus.
  • Prior software industry and/or US headquartered company experience a plus.
  • Software and system skills a plus.
  • Microsoft Excel is a must.
