Job Summary

As a Logistics Operations Supervisor, you will lead the development, direction, and effectiveness of the functional group, adhering to organizational policies and processes, while supporting overall business and corporate objectives. This role requires a comprehensive knowledge of the logistics field, serving as an expert resource in the occupational field. The incumbent often makes decisions and commitments without prior approval on matters that are non-routine and important in nature, requiring a high level of sensitivity, diplomacy, and tact, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality of associate and company information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership for the functional group’s development, direction, and effectiveness, adhering to organizational policies and processes and supporting overall business and corporate objectives.
  • Develops people based on business continuity plans, identifies problems, and provides possible solutions.
  • Supervises the team and department’s daily activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organization’s policies.
  • Analyzes alternatives to establish the best routes and costs to serve customers worldwide, both internal and external.
  • Monitors performance levels to ensure customers’ expectations are met or exceeded, using inbound, outbound, sterilization, and 3PL activities.
  • Creates and implements controls to assure local and international trade compliance.
  • Provides high-level administrative support to the Logistics Department, involving organizational and coordination activities, as well as independent research and data collection.
  • Monitors promptness of documentation entry into appropriate databases, distributes and compiles reports, and validates accuracy of input.
  • Maintains system accuracy and processes corrective actions as required.
  • Gathers information about operations to measure effectiveness, improve processes, resolve problems, and optimize operational expenses and customer service levels.
  • Provides expertise for local and global import/export functions, including trade and security regulatory compliance.
  • Controls and analyzes Inbound, outbound, sterilization spend, and other processes affecting budget goals.
  • Provides customer service support within regions regarding logistics topics.
  • Supports and participates in global bid processes.
  • Participates and generates continuous improvement projects.
  • Maintains updated logistics procedures.
  • Supports other tasks based on business requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience, preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of international transportation regulations, INCOTERMS, HTS classification, NAFTA, CTPAT, Binding Ruling, etc.
  • High-level understanding of international business practices, trade, and finance.
  • English: Speak and written.
  • Excel: Intermediate-high.
