Packaging Engineer II

Overview of the Position:
In this role, you will work under moderate supervision to develop and analyze packaging solutions, products, materials, processes, or equipment for projects of moderate complexity. You will compile, analyze, and report operational, testing, and research data to establish performance benchmarks for newly designed or modified packaging and products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively engage and contribute to project teams by completing packaging tasks. Lead small to moderate scope project teams in defining goals, planning, executing activities, and following up on projects.
- Independently plan and schedule your activities to meet project timelines.
- Exhibit knowledge in Sustaining Engineering by delivering high-quality results.
- Coordinate, create, and enhance packaging components for Sustaining Engineering, adhering to existing formats and designs while meeting regulatory, quality, and business standards. Execute similar actions for new product and packaging development as needed.
- Manage Change Notice activities, ensuring the review, approval, and release of packaging components and documentation.
- Design, coordinate, and conduct engineering tests and experiments aimed at improving existing product and packaging designs, as well as developing new products and packaging. Analyze data and draw conclusions from the results.
- Generate and review documentation related to packaging, including specifications, test plans, reports, and other relevant documents.
- Collaborate effectively with various departments, divisions, and suppliers to foster an improved, practical, and consistent approach to packaging.
- Troubleshoot new issues related to design, materials, or processes.
- Provide guidance to technicians and other staff on packaging processes or testing procedures as applicable.
- Serve as a resource for the orientation and training of new engineers and employees.
- Identify opportunities for improvement, propose solutions, and submit ideas for consideration.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering (Industrial, Design, Chemical/Materials, Mechanical) or a related field.
- Proficiency in English at a B2 level or higher.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Desired knowledge includes:
- Comprehensive understanding of packaging concepts, materials, processes, testing, equipment, and applicable standards/regulations.
- Proven ability to research data, compile and analyze information, and report findings while exercising sound judgment based on objective evidence.
- Familiarity with the systems, industry practices, and standards of the Medical Devices sector, along with an understanding of the regulations governing this industry.
- Ability to perform structured work assignments and resolve routine problems using established policies and procedures.
- Basic supervision and direction will be provided by more senior roles or management.
