The Opportunity

This position will be based out of our Costa Rica - Alajuela location in the Electrophysiology Division, where we're advancing the treatment of heart disease through innovative medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and live life to the fullest.

Job Description

As the Production Line Supervisor, your role will be to assist the Production Supervisor in managing the daily activities of production, ensuring procedures are followed, non-conformance issues are addressed promptly, and staff is performing at expected levels. Key responsibilities include:

  • Executing documentation control activities, including supporting supervisors in optimizing resources within shifts to achieve key performance indicator goals such as safety, quality, line output, yield, and productivity rates.
  • Ensuring production schedule adherence for assigned areas, providing support to direct labor personnel, and communicating results or deviations to supervisors in a timely manner.
  • Collaborating with supervisors on administrative tasks such as vacation coordination, direct labor attendance, personnel transportation, and other duties as needed.
  • Ensuring the manufacturing process is followed, documentation is completed, and products are handled properly to prevent quality issues or discrepancies.
  • Providing feedback to supervisors regarding personnel performance, supporting continued feedback to direct labor, reinforcing desired behavior, and addressing unacceptable behavior while ensuring company principles and policies are consistently followed.
  • Assisting in tracking line metrics and reporting results daily.
  • Partially covering supervisor responsibilities when needed, taking people, safety, and quality decisions as required.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A high school degree, supervision, engineering, or a similar background.
  • 3-5 years' experience as a team member/trainer, technician, or similar position in a complex manufacturing environment (medical industry preferred).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality systems, production metrics, and inventory control methods.
  • Demonstrated computer skills and basic MS Office knowledge.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in technical aspects of the position to achieve a high level of performance, such as controlling production indicators, SAP, Windchill, or other systems used in the manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead/manage people.
  • Availability to work 100% on-site in Coyol, Alajuela.
  • Shift B (Monday to Friday, 3:30 pm - 10:00 pm, and Saturday, 8:00 am to 3:30 pm).

Preferred Qualifications

We welcome candidates with:

  • Basic knowledge of English.
  • Desirable previous supervision/leader experience in medical devices/technological manufacturing environments or proven experience leading direct labor personnel.

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
