Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Corporate Services Alliance team. In this role, you will design data ingestion jobs from various source systems following existing design patterns using Spark or Apache Beam. You will also modify data extraction pipelines into standardized approaches that can be repeatable and reusable with minimal supervision from senior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement data ingestion jobs from various source systemsModify data extraction pipelines into standardized approachesIdentify and resolve performance issues with technical solutionsWork with senior engineers to make data more accessible within the organizationIdentify internal process improvements and automate manual processesRequirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need at least 4-5 years of work experience as a Big Data engineer, with a minimum of 3 years experience in Java or Scala (Python is a plus). You should also have minimum of 3 years experience with SQL, at least 2-3 years of work experience with Spark (Apache Beam is a plus), and 2+ years of experience working with Big Data technologies such as HDFS, Spark, Hive.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in computer science, Systems engineering is preferred. Good experience with data warehouses and data access layers, experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP IAM, GCP Dataproc/Hadoop, GCP Dataflow, BigQuery), experience writing data pipelines, experience working in an agile development environment, and experience with Airflow or Cloud composer are all valuable assets.
