Big Data Architect for Snowflake Transformation

We are seeking a seasoned Big Data Architect to join Ex2 Outcoding.

Key Responsibilities:

- Define and implement source-to-target data processing using Azure Data Bricks.
- Design, build, and support security measures for our Snowflake environment, including firewalls, proxies, roles, column-level security, and row-level security.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand cost allocation models with Azure and Snowflake, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
- Develop and maintain Tidal automation frameworks for runtime environments.
- Design, build, and support Snowflake transformations from staging to standard data models.
- Analyze operational impact and participate in data modeling exercises to translate logical to physical models.
- Establish an operational monitoring and escalation framework to ensure seamless data flow.
- Create detailed documentation within Confluence to facilitate knowledge sharing among team members.
- Participate in project planning and estimating activities for technical aspects, providing expert insights on data warehouse design and optimization.
- Tune Snowflake for performance and optimize resource utilization, ensuring strong cost efficiency.
- Design effective analytics solutions and models using Snowflake, leveraging its capabilities for business growth.
- Assess data warehouses to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations, identifying areas for improvement.
- Regularly monitor system performance, troubleshooting issues and integrating new features to enhance overall data quality.
- Recommend solutions to improve existing data warehouses, ensuring they meet evolving business needs.
- Provide timely support for system problems, collaborating with developers to resolve issues efficiently.
- Offer guidance to developers on preparing functional and technical specifications for reporting requirements and ETL processes.
- Develop complex data models in Snowflake, leveraging its capabilities for advanced data analysis.
- Maintain a deep understanding of complementary technologies and help organizations leverage Snowflake as part of their larger technology stack.
- Expertise in Snowflake includes data modeling, ELT using Snowflake SQL, implementing complex stored procedures, and standard DWH and ETL concepts.
- Familiarity with Snowflake's advanced features such as resource monitors, RBAC controls, virtual warehouse sizing, query performance tuning, zero-copy clone, time travel, and data sharing.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake utilities, SnowSQL, SnowPipe, Big Data model techniques using Python, and other related tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong client-facing communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, Data Science, AI, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional technical experience, with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on Big Data architecture experience.
- Experience building highly scalable Big Data solutions using Hadoop, Spark, or Lambda architecture.
- Proven expertise in Snowflake administration, including data modeling, ELT, and advanced features.
- Strong database migration strategy and analytics fundamentals, including database migration and ETL accelerators.
- Experience working in cloud environments, preferably AWS and/or Azure.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop creative solutions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
