Position Overview

ATSG is currently seeking qualified candidates for the role of Corrections Consultant in San Jose, Costa Rica. The selected individual will become a vital member of the ATSG team, working closely with the U.S. Department of State (DOS) Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs' (INL) on the Central America Regional Security Initiative (CARSI) - Costa Rica task order. This initiative aims to broaden the scope of operations beyond Central America to encompass all WHA countries, building on the success of the initial CARSI contract. The CARSI Initiative represents a comprehensive multilateral security effort, providing financial support for the U.S. Government to assist the governments of CARSI nations in areas such as police professionalization, justice sector reform, counter-narcotics operations, border security management, crime and violence prevention, and anti-corruption initiatives.

Essential Qualifications
  • U.S. citizen, TCN, or LN.
  • MRPT certification or RSO Clearance for foreign nationals.
  • FSI level 3/3 proficiency in Spanish.
  • FSI level 3/3 proficiency in English.
  • Experience in delivering briefings in both Spanish and English.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution, with a preference for degrees in criminal justice, social sciences, accounting, or communications.
  • Completion of a U.S. federal or state corrections or probation officer academy certified by a POST commission or equivalent, with a minimum duration of 120 hours.
  • Experience in a leadership role as Associate Warden or Deputy Warden (or equivalent or higher).
  • A minimum of three (3) years of managerial and supervisory experience as a Deputy Warden or Warden (or equivalent).
Desirable Qualifications
  • Two (2) years of experience in international corrections issues is preferred.
  • Experience working in overseas environments is preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with other relevant U.S. government agencies (e.g., Departments of Justice, Defense, DEA, and/or USAID) is preferred.
