About the Role

The Senior Financial Operations Specialist will be responsible for managing end-to-end monthly cost activities for the North America region within Experian Software Solutions (ESS). The primary focus will be on month end close, monthly forecasting, and CapEx processes.

This role provides an excellent opportunity to:

  • Operate within a Global Services Function
  • Work closely and build relationships with Senior Finance Business Partners
  • Develop processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness
Key Responsibilities

The Senior Financial Operations Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Effectively managing the month end cost close for the North America region within ESS, including journal preparation (accruals, prepayments, and shared cost allocations), challenge and review of costs, and P&L review with variance analysis
  • Preparing CapEx calculations at month end for the ESS Lines of Business (LoB) for review with the Finance Manager and Senior Finance Business Partners
  • Managing the monthly forecast process for the North America region within ESS, working closely with the Senior Finance Business Partners to capture updates to forecast, as well as challenging the cost and headcount base, ensuring finance systems accurately represent the latest forecast, providing insight on variation to prior forecast and budget
  • Preparing and owning the reconciliation of the North America Balance Sheet
  • Maintaining the ESS Fixed Asset Register, liaising with Senior Finance Business Partners to certify accuracy and the GFS Fixed Assets Team to action updates such as additions, UEL changes, and amortization start dates
  • Reporting and analysis of ESS Cloud costs, driving further process and insight in collaboration with the Senior Finance Business Partner for cloud
  • Supporting the preparation of the Annual Budget, including ad-hoc analysis and updating of finance systems
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience
  • Master's in business administration or Certified Public Accountant preferred
  • Advanced English level
  • 5+ years of progressive financial experience
  • Advanced Excel and Oracle Hyperion Planning and Reporting knowledge desirable
  • Excellent communication skills (written & oral)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong ability to demonstrate complete ownership of assigned tasks
  • Works effectively across other departments/business units to ensure business issues are resolved for the success of the company
  • Effective organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities under tight time frames
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude
  • High level of curiosity and self-motivation
  • Demonstrated record of process improvements and desire to implement best practices

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
