The Senior Financial Analyst at Moody's plays a pivotal part in the Finance team, providing advanced support throughout the financial planning and analysis processes.

", "Key Responsibilities": "

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ownership of timely end-to-end month-end reporting, identification of key financial variance drivers, and communication of effective, value-add insight to help identify key focus areas for management and drive decision-making.
  • Providing advanced support on the input, consolidation, and modeling of forecast and budget projections in both Excel and Moody's financial reporting system, including recommendations for adjustments based on historical trends and business knowledge.
  • Partnering with local, regional, and global contacts within the Finance team and communicating effectively with the business to foster good working relationships with the rest of the organization.
  • Supporting the development of new reporting solutions and identifying key focus areas for management.
  • Recommending and implementing best practices for continuous enhancements to current processes and reporting, including identifying areas for productivity and driving the standardization of activities across Business Planning to harness efficiencies.
  • Conducting financial KPIs analysis, comparing anticipated and actual results, conducting thorough research of historical financial data and trends to identify and recommend areas of improvement to offer value-added insights into drivers.
  • Developing and updating financial models to assist in strategic initiatives and support critical decisions through financial projections and KPIs.
  • Providing support to the FP&A team in meetings with stakeholders, remaining present and engaged in all discussions, taking detailed notes, collecting notes from other attendees, and summarizing for manager to share back with all stakeholders.
  • Providing informal guidance or on-the-job training to other team members.
  • Collaborating on special projects as assigned by Finance management.
", "Experience/Qualifications": "

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 2–4 years of extensive relevant experience in financial modeling and analysis, and in Excel best practices, including use of advanced functions, pivot tables, etc.
  • Experience in business intelligence tools, multidimensional forecasting, and reporting applications (e.g., OneStream, Hyperion Planning, Essbase) is a plus.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of accounting concepts.
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills.
  • Detail- and data quality-oriented.
  • Strongly capable of summarizing and effectively communicating findings/analysis to senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (preferably: Office 365) and related financial systems.
  • Advanced analytical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Undergraduate qualification in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or other quantitative field.
