The Intel Software and Advanced Technology Group's Microsoft Technology Center (MTC) is dedicated to delivering innovative, high-quality software that enhances Intel products and maximizes customer satisfaction. In this position, you will play a crucial role in optimizing AI frameworks within the Windows ecosystem, specifically focusing on ONNX Runtime and DirectML. You will have the chance to analyze and enhance compute graphs, develop and refine kernels to ensure optimized inference on GPUs. Additionally, you will create software optimizations that encourage our partners to embrace cutting-edge Intel features. Your expertise in software and workload will also help shape the future roadmap for developing superior client products. Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with external partners and internal Intel teams to identify use cases for new technologies and opportunities for Intel. Assess new Intel technologies such as storage, memory, and security by creating proof of concepts and presenting findings to partners and Intel architects. Apply performance methodologies to enhance Intel's hardware and optimize the software stack for optimal performance on IA. Exhibit strong communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of negotiating and resolving conflicts at all organizational levels to achieve mutually beneficial solutions. Demonstrate tolerance for ambiguity, build consensus across the organization, and proactively manage changes to meet tight deadlines. Show discipline and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently. Manage multiple assignments effectively while adhering to deadlines. Possess strong business acumen.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following minimum qualifications. The preferred qualifications listed below are additional factors that will help identify top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. (Candidates with a background in Electrical Engineering with software experience or a BS with relevant experience will also be considered.)

- A minimum of 4 years of industry experience in developing high-quality code in C/C++, Python, C#, or similar programming languages.
- At least 2 years of experience with deep learning models, including knowledge of common model architectures, numeric and data types, and model optimization techniques (such as fusions, sparsity, quantization, and compression).
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in parallel computing and performance engineering.
- Candidates must have the permanent unrestricted right to work in Costa Rica.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in English.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with modern CPU and GPU architectures, runtimes, compiler code generation, and multi-threading. Experience with Intel Xeon architecture is a plus.
- Experience in kernel development using HLSL, CUDA, OpenCL, etc., with HLSL being a plus.
- Background in software optimization, benchmarking, compilers, runtimes, and AI/ML.
- Knowledge of deep learning runtimes and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and ONNX Runtime.
- Experience in framework development, performance (latency/throughput) analysis, and optimizations is highly desirable.
