Compliance Operations (C-Ops) is part of Product Assurance, Risk, and Security (PARS) organization within Amazon.
C-Ops ensures that Amazon transactions satisfy legal and safety requirements in compliance with guidelines set by regulatory bodies.
The team is designed to ensure Amazon is compliant in the online retail space.
The team's primary role is to provide operational services to ensure compliance in different import/export regulations across different marketplaces, including BR, CA, MX and US.
The tasks handled by this group have a direct impact on shipment of the product and catalog selection.
Roles and Responsibilities:

- Global Trade Sr.
Associate will be responsible for operational tasks to ensure import/export compliance with regulations in different countries in which Amazon operates.
Specific duties may include:

- Customs Broker requests management for Import Clearance.
- Product review to ensure compliance with import laws, Trademark regulations and other import requirements.
- Interacting with internal customers to ensure timely resolution for imports.
- Determination of Product specifications required for lab testing to determine import viability.
- Other support activities to ensure compliance with local and US regulations for import/export processes.
- Determination of HTS Classification (for BR MX mainly but may classify for any other countries) and other country specifics, including BR and MX product type classification for risk assessment and BR CEST and EX-Tipi codes.
- Work hard, have fun and make history.
- Identification & implementation of improvement opportunities/automation to enhance process efficiency, quality and customer experience with measurable impact.
- Responsible for quality, root cause analysis on process & quality gaps and recommend corrective actions.
- Training and mentoring new hires and other associates, suggests improvements to training.
- Creation and maintenance of SOPs and Work Instructions.
- Understanding of metrics, deep dive on KPIs, troubleshooting on reports and multiple data sources.
- Flagging any updates received from stakeholders on process to Process Expert/Manager.
This is not a virtual position.
Due to the current situation caused by COVID-19, if selected for this role, all necessary equipment will be provided for you to work from home.
However, once our company allows it and gives clearance, you will be required to continue working from our SJO19 building, located in the America Free Zone (AFZ), Cariari, Heredia.

- Intermediate/advanced Portuguese proficiency (B2 level).
- Working experience equivalent in HTS Classification for any country.
- Experience in peer coaching, mentoring, and/or training.
- Experience in product safety and/or regulatory compliance management with government agencies.
- Knowledge of consumer product compliance processes and CLP regulations.
- Working experience with MS Excel.
