**Role Summary**

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Business Intelligence, the Business Intelligence Analyst will contribute to developing enterprise level analytics products and will be part of a team driving enterprise transformational initiatives.
The role will be focused on understanding the critical business insights and working on analytics products that enable the VMware Sales organizations to achieve their ambitious goals.

**The Work**: What type of work will you be doing?
What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
As business analyst you will be working on
- Work on enterprise level reporting assets and contribute to a Role Based Analytics framework
- Build good understand for the various reporting needs of the Sales Organization and the underlying data
- Query data and perform reporting deep dives to shape the detailed data requirements for metrics/KPIs and the associated data set.
- Collaborate with business and EDA stakeholders and IT to understand different aspects of the reporting portfolio and data
- Support end-to-end Business Intelligence lifecycle development processes as needed, which includes, but is not limited to, capture business requirement definitions (BRD/user stories), create functional requirement definitions (FRD), technical design documents (TDD), and run user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Partner closely with IT counterparts on functional requirements and design to drive successful end state solutions.
- Take part in conversation with business users and engage on critical topics focusing on the sales processes
- Understand and document processes following data governance best practices

What you should possess:

- Experience in SQL, Tableau, SAP Business Object, OBIEE and/or other BI platform tools
- Passion for investigative data analysis and good business acumen
- Resilient and flexible, comfortable with ambiguity, and adaptable to fast-changing environment/objectives.
- Good communication skills in a global team
- Interest in process documentation
- Desire to contribute on large transformation initiatives related to data migrations

**Success in the Role**.
What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
- Within 30 days of employment, establish relationships with your peers, stakeholders; become competent in VMware's data strategies and build solid understanding of the initiatives driven within your team; then work closely with your business stakeholders and peers to understand VMWare's Sales Organizations and related data needs
- Within 60-90 days of employment, you will be expected to align with VMware data strategies, while contributing to building best in class data products to support your partners.
Proficiency in various data querying and validation approaches, ad-hoc data analysis and deep dives using various analytics tools is also expected.
In this period you will be building strong understanding of the metrics and data needs for the Sales Organization.
- Within 180 days, you will be expected to work with your business partners on various steps of the business intelligence lifecycle, independently research and query data, analyze Sales metrics, contribute to documenting processes you've learnt and engage with business partners to meet organizational goals
