**Introduction**
As an accounting analyst at IBM you'll be a key player in all aspects of strategic payments planning.
You will make significant contributions to high-profile operational initiatives as the business continues to grow globally.
**Your Role and Responsibilities**
- Execute general ledger accounts reconciliations and follow-up on reconciling items.
- Perform analysis of balance sheet accounts ensuring accounts are accurate, any suspicious transaction must be investigated and escalated accordingly.
- Perform month-end activities accurately ensuring period is closed as per agreed timetable.
- Prepare recurring and ad-hoc reports as per agreed timeline to allow end markets review and analysis.
- Communicate with stakeholders by solving issues, providing guidance and promoting a customer-oriented culture.
- Propose, Prepare and post journals ensuring business rules are aligned with end market requirements.
- Process daily bank statements and review line items have been recorded correctly in bank accounts.
**Required Technical and Professional Expertise**
- Cash and Banks and General Ledger accounting Knowledge.
- Journal Entries.
- Balance Sheet account reconciliation and Analysis accounting Knowledge.
- US GAPP and IRSF acknowledges is desirable.
- English: Advanced and Fluent.
**Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise**
- Good knowledge of SAP.
- Knowledge of statutory accounting principles for the countries within AMERICAS.
- Knowledge of Taxes, employee benefits and compensation accounts.
