You are responsible for verifying the pricing components on all customer orders and creating value for Nitel and its customers through vendor management, cost effective sourcing, pricing data management, special pricing projects and pricing negotiation.
**what you'll do**
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of pricing, products, and network capabilities of our current and new vendors as well as pricing promotions, changes, and trends
- Maintain pricing and vendor documentation
- Analyze and source business to appropriate vendors to determine the most cost-effective solution using our quoting database, telecom vendor database and other internal and external resources
- Actively engage vendors in product discussions and pricing negotiations
- Confirm all cost and vendor information on customer orders to ensure correct carrier orders and acceptable margin
- Function as a liaison between our vendors and the Sales, Orders, Provisioning teams as needed to move quotes/orders forward effectively
- Assist in all vendor or pricing inquiries from Sales, Operations and Finance
- Provide training to Sales staff on quoting system process and procedures
- Conduct cross-training sessions with fellow Pricing & Procurement team members

**what you'll bring to succeed**
- Bachelor's degree with a concentration in business, finance, or related field
- Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of professional experience in a related industry, or work experience that includes independent research, problem solving, teamwork and solid communication skills
- Experience in pricing, negotiation, buying, or logistics preferred
- Proficient using complex database systems (quoting system and orders system)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Keen attention to detail and sound numerical skills
- Proven problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills
- Highly responsive, self-motivated, and able to act on own initiative
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and maintain quality while working under pressure
- Able to learn new tasks quickly with minimum supervision

- Maintain an average order pricing verification turnaround of 2 days or less
- Verify and maintain an acceptable average net margin on quotes and sold orders
- Maintain an average quote turnaround of 1 day or less
- Negotiate additional cost savings on quotes and sold orders
