ASIC RTL Logic Designer

This role has been designated as ‘Edge’, which means you will primarily work outside of an HPE office.

Our ASICs are the building blocks of these solutions, and we are looking for talented engineers to be part of our ASIC design team. As an ASIC Design Engineer in the Campus Switching ASIC team within HPE Aruba, you will design, analyze, and modify ASIC components and hardware systems. As an Entry to Intermediate Level ASIC design engineer, you will:

- Collaborate with senior ASIC engineers to define and document micro-architecture.
- Implement digital logic using Verilog, or Systemverilog.
- Utilize debug skills and analyze simulation results of designs using a constrained random simulation environment such as UVM.
- Target design to specific technology nodes using an industry standard synthesis tool such as Synopsys Design Compiler.

**Responsibilities**:

- Design portions of switch/router architecture and algorithms based on established ASIC engineering principles and in accordance with provided specifications and requirements
- Collaborate and communicate with management regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution
- Design, simulate and test VLSI circuits. Ensure the VLSI designs meet quality, schedule, and cost goals for prototype or production solutions
- Collaborate with senior engineers and architects at all stages of VLSI development, including design, validation and testing
- Develops digital logic designs using the Verilog or Systemverilog Hardware Description Language
- Utilizes scripting and programming skills to automate design workflows, design checklists, and other deliverables needed to ensure quality designs
- Seeks guidance and mentoring from more experienced staff members to model best practices of VLSI design, development, innovation, and excellence
- Seeks to continuously improve through training and mentorship.
- Collaborates with colleagues in other geographies or office locations

Knowledge and Skills:

- Experience or understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals, VLSI principles, digital logic design, computer architecture, and algorithms
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills; master in English and local language
- Knowledge of a programming language, scripting, hardware description language, electronic design automation (EDA), and/or FPGA tools. Coursework in VLSI design/concepts and digital logic

Education and Experience Required
- Bachelor's or Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
- 0-3 years of experience in VLSI design, verification, or implementation
