Application Architect

**Introduction**
As an IBM Application Architect, you directly help clients transform their business and solve complex problems. You will define the scope and vision for projects that deliver customized solutions using your knowledge of IBM platforms. You are a technical leader, serving as a liaison among business partners, technical resources, and project stakeholders.

**Your Role and Responsibilities**
- Assisting customers with technical scoping and architectural strategy
- Providing planning and scoping of solution implementation and technical platform requirements for SAP projects such as; Requirements Analysis, Option Determination, Cost Estimation, Resource Assessments and Assumptions and Constraints
- Aligning technical delivery to meet requirements for project or Program Management Office (PMO) including High-Availability (HA) and Operations Planning
- Facilitating communications and knowledge transfer between technical and functional teams, as well as between customers and other providers and services partners
- Architecting SAP technical solutions and their associated platforms such as: evaluating and reviewing technical platform options, designing and coordinating technical platforms with the client’s chosen vendor or Cloud provider for both project and production landscapes, assisting clients in sizing and configuring their platforms and planning key production requirements
- Organizing and delivering technical workshops with clients to establish buy-in and critical technical details
- Presenting technical alternatives and recommendations to clients based on current SAP Best Practices, industry knowledge and proven client experiences
- Documenting responses to client RFIs and RFPs as well as preparing unsolicited bids
- Working with multi-disciplinary teams involved in the implementation of SAP S/4HANA and Rise with SAP Offerings
- Managing or executing specific project deliverables and scope to ensure project schedules & timelines are respected
- Working with SAP functional teams to design technical solutions required to support business transformations
- Demonstrating technical effectiveness in meeting business needs by articulating proposed solutions in business terms
- Translating business requirements into comprehensive deliverables and estimating the work effort required to complete them
- Enabling knowledge transfer to the client delivery, BASIS and Development teams before transition to in service support
- Communicating in a team environment with clients and colleagues
- Providing support for deployment and sustainment as necessary

**Required Technical and Professional Expertise**
- Solid experience in SAP PI/PO Integration & Development.
- At least 8 years’ experience in projects involving different SAP modules across multiple industries in large organizations and be aware of the challenges faced by different teams in coming up with an integrated enterprise wide solution.
- At least 6 years’ experience in in-depth knowledge of SAP Technical Architecture, with preference for experience working within a Hybrid cloud SAP environments.
- Minimum 8 years SAP implementation experience - full project lifecycle.

**Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise**
- Certification in a related SAP domain and/or industry.
- Strong familiarity with SAP implementation methodologies, including ASAP.
- Understanding of the new SAP Activate methodology would be an asset.
- Knowledge of the SAP emerging technologies such as S4/HANA and Fiori would be an asset.
