Manager, Quality Assurance EdTech/K-12/SaaS - San Pedro, Montes de Oca, San Jose Costa Rica (Remote)

What You Will Do:

- Oversee software quality assurance ensures test strategy and execution are aligned to end state architecture and platform performance expectations.
- Manage the delivery of software quality services in cloud-based, SaaS product environments.
- Develop a software quality assurance strategy, vision, and roadmap with input from all areas of leadership to improve the efficiency of the software lifecycle process, and ensure the software is consistently deployed with mínimal defects.
- Design and integrate QA processes, policies, and automated end-to-end testing strategies for Cloud-based SaaS software platforms and products.
- Implement robust automated QA testing practices in support of pipelines with a focus on early issue detection.
- Lead testing efforts ensuring that platform and product deployments are delivered on time and within quality standards.
- Collaborate with and influence Product, Engineering, and SchoolMint Stakeholders to ensure that best QA practices are adopted, and quality is embedded in the software development process.
- Provide budget, headcount, project, and resource planning for Software Quality Assurance and Product Deployment activities.
- Partner with product, engineering, and infrastructure leaders to ensure delivery of a clear technical roadmap that supports component and regression testing for all releases.
- Partner with key business partners and stakeholders to ensure solutions that best meet the strategic needs of the business.
- Define key measurements and metrics to quantify software quality and benchmark Quality Assurance team effectiveness, adjusting processes to improve the efficiency of software delivery from a quality assurance perspective.
- Recommend and implement software testing & automation technological solutions.
- Hire, develop, and manage QA staff.
- Coordinate talent management and succession planning.
- Monitor and evolve talent skill mix, using training and active recruitment plans and strategies.
- Promote a culture of diversity and inclusion.

About You:

- 5+ years of experience working through the design, development, release cycle and delivering software products to market
- 5+ years of software testing and automation experience with 2 - 4 years of leading people.
- Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science OR related technical discipline. Equivalent experience is also considered.
- A record of successful delivery of software solutions as an individual contributor, team leader, and/or development manager
- Strong understanding of the software testing techniques and principles.
- Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools.
- Strong leadership, project management skills, time management skills, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead through ambiguous situations and seek clarity.
- Take end-to-end accountability of product development touching Requirements, Design, Development, Deployment, and Support.
- Lead and mentor teams of dedicated engineers to effectively test and deliver high-quality products in an iterative Agile or Kanban environment.
- Communicate well - Provide clear, concise, and accurate reports for senior leadership
- Hands-on experience with Test Management and Defect Management tools.

- Web services, REST, SOAP, and JSON
- Strong Database and SQL skills
- Java or.Net programming experience
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools like Cucumber, SOAPUI, Jenkins, Maven, etc.
- Previous SaaS Software Development experience preferred, not required.
