Experience in procurement

Are you interested in joining the Technology, Sourcing and Procurement space inside Amazon’s eCommerce Foundation? Then this job aligns perfect as our team is responsible for all aspects related to Software negotiation, acquisition and long-term strategy on that space.
As a Tech Procurement SME II (Subject Matter Expert) is expected for you to partner with Global teams to define SW needs, specifications and forecasted and ad-hoc demand. You will create and place purchase orders with the appropriate vendors and track them, following up on order distribution, completion and logging the information in their records while handling a moderate number of buying situations at the same time. Engage with our trusted vendors and suppliers on various levels. We hold governance programs with them and have mechanisms in place how to stay on top of the supply chain updates. We want you to assist the customers as a first technical point of contact in software inquiries providing complete and up-to-date information, in a courteous, efficient and timely manner.

Key job responsibilities
- The Tech Procurement SME II will create and release purchase orders with the appropriate vendors and track them, signing off when the Software titles are delivered and logging the information in their records.
- Engage in a number of negotiations with vendors and suppliers. He or she will work with other companies to find the lowest possible prices.
- Capable and effective on complex deals that may involve creative contract terms to achieve the desired results.
- Expected to manage multiple complex deals at one time.
- Performs analysis of monthly spending of a determined number of cost centers to identify areas for improvement.
- Identifies ways to reduce spending via some degree of controllership.
- Works with the senior management of cost centers to gain understanding and implementation of the Amazon Spending and Transaction Policy.
