We are seeking a talented Product Designer - Design System with a passion for creating beautiful digital products and experiences. If you love user centered design, solving real-world problems and making customers happy, come join our growing product design team.

You have experience creating design systems to ensure cohesive experiences across multiple platforms. You use industry-leading design tools and processes. You are interested in being part of a fast-paced, growing design team and have a knack for designing innovative solutions to address the challenges in the online gaming industry.

Us

Located in both San Jose, Costa Rica and Montreal, Canada, we are a small but dedicated Marketing and Design Department servicing a large and established US-facing product entertainment group. We have a range of software entertainment solutions targeted at US Sports fans.

Our goal is to improve our digital products and experiences and make them the envy of the industry we work for.

What you will be doing

As a product designer for the design system, you will work closely with Product Designers and Software Engineers to ensure a cohesive experience across our platforms. You will build a fantastic UI/design system with components, clear guidelines, processes to ensure consistency and scalability.

Core responsibilities:

- Envision and create a design system (primarily in Figma). You may on occasion need to interact with Adobe XD as well.
- Work closely with and support the UX/Product Design Teams and dev/engineering teams, across multiple products
- Work closely with our creative director, graphic arts, and brand teams to ensure brand vision is conveyed in the design system
- Help development teams create components by ensuring its built according to design and interaction specifications
- Maintain the design system, create, and update documentation, and library components
- Establish design standards and principles accompanying the design system for scalability, efficiency, and consistency
- Evaluate and improve usability and accessibility of components, and be a champion for the user
- Work with product designers by providing clear feedback on usage, conventions, and patterns
- Improve the design to development handoff process
- Give clear and usable guidance/feedback to product designers, help create new components, and promote best practices
- Participate in the full product development process using relevant tools
- Occasionally conduct/participate in research that is relevant to building the design system
- Uphold a high standard for design excellence, and contribute to raising the bar for design at our company
- Participate in our design community

What wed like to see in you
- Very clear demonstrable experience building design systems, component libraries, and/or UI Kits (if you cannot show this, please do not apply).
- 4+ years working in a digital design profession as a UX designer, UI designer, interaction designer, product designer, or similar
- End-to-end design skills including very strong graphic/UI/visual design skills
- Bachelor's degree HCI or design field, or equivalent work experience.
- Outstanding portfolio showing deep product understanding and craftsmanship and innovative solutions from conception to launch
- Very knowledgeable of user-centric processes and design thinking principles
- Experienced and highly knowledgeable about differences in designing for multiple platforms, devices, screen sizes, pwa, etc.
- Experience creating and maintaining clean design system documentation
- Mastery of standard design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe CS & XD)
- Solid understanding of design theory (typography, color, grid, etc.)
- Knowledge of accessibility standards/patterns and designing for accessibility
- Excellent communication & collaboration skills
- Excellent creative and critical thinking skills.
- Comfortable working with virtual teams across multiple time zones and geographies
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Early adopter who enjoys staying current on technology, design, and keenly aware of trends

BONUS Skills/traits:

- Experience with UI animation and illustration
- Knowledge of accessibility standards/patterns and designing for accessibility
- HTML/CSS and JavaScript knowledge/experience
