Our Company is seeking an experienced Indirect Tax Specialist to join the Global Corporate Tax team in Costa Rica

The Indirect Tax Specialist will support the Americas market, with additional opportunities to learn and support other markets including APAC and EMEA; this position will be physical located in San Jose, CR.

This role interacts with third party vendors and local finance stakeholders, to ensure that the organization is compliant with all indirect tax laws. This position ensures that all processes are documented, that all filings are accurate, and that all indirect tax matters are resolved timely and effectively.

**Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following**:

- Working with a first class outsourced provider, manage, prepare, and review Indirect Tax returns for multiple jurisdictions globally, mainly for America's markets.
- Work closely with the internal shared services operation to ensure that Indirect Tax requirements are met and manage all associated risks.
- Assist the Indirect Tax Compliance Leads in the development and implementation of KPI’s to monitor the VAT processes and performance of the company.
- Actively monitor tax process and systems to ensure that they are efficient, accurate, up to date and comply with current regulatory requirements. Continuously identify opportunities to achieve improvements through initiating continuous improvement projects.
- Keep abreast of changes to Indirect Tax legislation and how they impact the company.
- Support local team in government and internal audits.
- Act as a mentor in assisting and developing the VAT knowledge and expertise of the VAT specialist.

**Education Minimum Required**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Fluent English required and other language an advantage.

**Experience Required**:

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a tax function related to indirect taxes.
- Experience working in an organization providing services across multiple markets or geographies.
- Problem solving and analytical skills with a proactive work ethic.
- Ability to work independently, capable of handling multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

**Technical Skills Requirements**:

- Ability to lead Tax research and investigation.
- Intermediate to Advanced PC skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Spotfire) required.
- Experience with tax determination systems (e.g., Sabrix, Vertex).
- SAP, Ariba experience desired.
- Demonstrated commitment to education and professional development.
- Ability to operate independently and navigate through change or uncertainty.
- Demonstrate an adaptability and openness to change, whether it be in objectives, roles, procedures.
- Demonstrate flexibility in working roles, to allow assistance to other colleagues in busy periods, by proactively making themselves available to support others.
- Very good communication, interpersonal, and organization skills required.
- Ability to work across different cultures and time zones.
